Structural Integrity

Tuckpointing

Proper tuckpointing is one of the most important steps in protecting the life of your brick structure. At J&J Masonry, we carefully grind deteriorated mortar joints to a depth of ¾" to 1", removing all loose and damaged material before any new mortar is installed. This ensures a strong bond and long-lasting repair. We custom dye and mix our mortar to closely match the original color, texture, and composition of your existing masonry, including historical mortar specifications when required. Once the joints are filled, each one is tooled by hand to create a clean, uniform appearance while providing a durable, weather-resistant seal that helps keep moisture out and protects your investment for years to come.

BRICK RESTORATION

Carbon Removal

Over time, brick and stone can become stained with carbon buildup, pollution, smoke, and years of environmental exposure, leaving buildings looking dark and worn. Our professional carbon removal process safely restores the natural beauty of your masonry without causing unnecessary damage to the brick or stone. Using specialized cleaning products designed specifically for masonry restoration, we carefully apply the solution and thoroughly rinse the surface to remove years of buildup. Carbon removal is especially effective during major restoration projects and is best completed before new windows are installed, allowing for a cleaner finish and easier access to all masonry surfaces.
